Want to get some free stuff next time you’re in Las Vegas? The famous Rio hotel-casino will give you freebies during your trip when you sign up for their “Rio Text Offers” program. All you have to do is send a text message with the word RIO to 227466 when you arrive in Vegas, and you’ll receive special offers for the next four days.
Offers vary by week but include $10 off the Rio’s buffets, 2 for 1 drink specials, and free tickets for shows around Las Vegas. And to close the deal, The Rio promises not to send you any more texts after the four day period is over– so whatever is texted in Vegas will stay in Vegas.

I texted Rio with that number when I was staying there…I got 2-3 text messages each day with 2 for 1 drink offers at all their bars, 2 for 1 buffet offers at their World buffet and discounted show tickets for Jubilee at Bally’s…so it’s great way to get free stuff if you plan on staying at the Rio or the Palms. The offers might not be worth it if you are staying on the Strip because you have to take a cab to the Rio

This text message service totally worked. FYI, when I was in the Vegas airport, Hooters casino was also advertising a text message service for free stuff.
